Tasting notes: This Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon has been briefly aged in wood. It is deep red in colour but not overly dense, with a purple rim. The first notes to emerge are hints of green tea, newly mown grass, rubber and tar, which then give way to aromas of red and black fruit: blueberries, blackberries, mulberries and cherries. It has a fresh finish on the palate with a tinge of eucalyptus. It is soft and full-bodied in the mouth but well balanced by the lingering tannins. A versatile wine, it complements most meat dishes, game included, but can also accompany pasta dishes and risottos without masking their flavour.
